Boy was this last week (when I was officially 36 weeks) quite interesting! My husband was working out of town last Wednesday (and out of cell service) for the last time before I turned "full term." I was doing pretty good not stressing about it, but lo and behold on that day I started cramping really bad. I don't usually get pre-labor signs so I started thinking this baby might be coming early! The next day the same thing happened but I also noticed there was a noticeable decrease in movement. I immediately felt better because I realized I was cramping because the baby had a MAJOR growth spurt and the movement was decreased because they were sleeping extra. I was so relieved when I figured out I wasn't going to have a pre-term baby. :) And sure enough, my belly really popped out the next day!
Now that I am officially "full term" I am excited to find out how things are progressing. My OB was out of the office last week, so I will have my official check-up at 37-weeks.
Now for the pregnancy questions. :)
Week number: 37 weeks! I'm guessing I will only go another 2 weeks at most.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 20-ish pounds. I will find out the exact number at my appointment on Tuesday.
Maternity Clothes: Yes!
Gender: Surprise! :) And I think we've finally decided on 2 names, which we are keeping secret for now.
Movement: Yes! Baby is head down, but lying kind of crooked so I'm looking forward to Baby getting in the right position soon.
Sleep: Terrible! Averaging about 4 hours a night. BUT....that's because I have had a lot on my mind and not in relation to pregnancy. We've just had a lot of exciting news around here lately and it's not helping me sleep. ;)
Difference between this pregnancy and previous pregnancies: Weight gain is slower still.
What I'm thankful for: My parents are here! It's nice to know they'll be here to watch the boys when I go into labor. Plus, my hubby works an hour away so if I go into labor it will be nice to have someone to drive me to the hospital since my labors have been so quick. And...my awesome hubby has been working extra hours lately in order to take off time when the baby comes (he doesn't get paid leave) so it's been nice to have my parent's here to take the boys on extra walks and my dad has been doing projects around here that my husband hasn't gotten a chance to work on yet. So it's been a real blessing since my parents live 11 hours away.
Pregnancy symptoms: Waves of nausea off and on. I can just tell that my body is already dilating and getting ready!
Changes I've noticed: My belly REALLY popped out with Baby's last growth spurt. I finally feel like the baby is growing. :)
Milestones: Being officially full-term. Yay!
What I'm looking forward to: Meeting this baby and finding out whether it's a little boy or little girl!
